People see fingers coming out of storm drain on Navarro, find man inside

Some Victoria residents got a small scare Friday afternoon when they saw human fingers coming out from a storm drain.

Victoria Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded to a call of a man in a drain Friday afternoon around 2:30.

VPD Spokesperson Lieutenant Eline Moya says a homeless man entered the drain tunnels through an opening on East Airline Road.

Authorities called the Streets Department to remove the manhole cover and pulled the man out in front of the EZ Pawn on Navarro.

The homeless man says he entered the drains the night before.

He was dazed but EMS checked him out on the scene and released him.
