In Cuero today, Lieutenant General Jefferson Howell spoke to the residents of Cuero inside of the county courtroom. Jefferson is a native of Victoria. He served 37 years in the Marine Corps serving two tours in Vietnam. During his active duty time in the marines, Jefferson was stationed in Pearl Harbor.
“Going out to the USS Arizona Memorial always reminded me of the terrible sacrifices that the young sailors made that awful day and how brave and devoted they were to there country,” said Jefferson. Jefferson also said we should remember everyone who has given their life for their country.
