Partly Cloudy with Scattered Showers and Thunderstorms Late Today and Again Friday

Isolated Overnight Showers, Breezy and Humid

Urban flooding is catastrophic over much of Southeast Texas due to between two and three feet of rain caused by Tropical Depression Imelda, but the Crossroads has largely dodged that calamity. Still, scattered to numerous thunderstorms have developed over the Golden Crescent this afternoon and will do so again on Friday, depositing up to an inch of rain in places. Expect upper level high pressure to rebuild over the region for your weekend and into much of next week, squeezing precipitation to a minimum and maintaining afternoon temperatures in the middle to upper 90s. Copious amounts of Gulf moisture will mean heat indices between 105 and 110 each afternoon. Lows will drop only into the middle to upper 70s.
