Partly Cloudy, Hot and Humid Afternoons with Steamy Nights
Heat Indices Each Afternoon 105 to 110 Degrees
VICTORIA, Texas — Summer arrives according to the calendar on Friday, but our thermometers and bodies tell us a different story: It’s been feeling like summer for a few weeks already. With an upper level ridge to our south and abundant Gulf moisture in place, expect air temperatures in the upper 90s and heat indices approaching 110 through the end of the work week. Little, if any, precipitation is anticipated. By this weekend, however, the upper level ridge shifts far enough eastward to allow disturbances to glide across the region, inducing isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday through Tuesday. Best rain chances will be Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will not change much, so expect highs in the middle to upper 90s with lows in the middle to upper 70s.
