Partly Cloudy and Very Hot; Isolated Showers

Little Meaningful Relief from Heat Overnight

Oppressive heat and humidity dominate the weather pattern for the Crossroads late this afternoon, even though a couple of isolated showers have appeared over the region. Air temperatures in the middle to upper 90s, when combined with abundant Gulf humidity, have created an atmospheric soup worthy of Bobby Flay. Heat indices between 110 and 115 degrees predominate and have required Heat Advisories for all of the Crossroads. That advisory is likely to be extended through Thursday and may well be in place through the middle of next week. Highs will remain between 100 and 102 degrees and afternoon heat indices 110 to 115 degrees. Overnight low will only manage upper 70s to around 80.
