Partly Cloudy and Humid with Isolated Showers This Afternoon

Monday: Scattered Storms but Mid-Summer Heat

Deep tropical moisture is able to generate only isolated rain showers this afternoon under the dominance of a large upper level ridge that spans the southeastern third of the U.S. After a steamy night, expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to accompany summer-like heat and humidity for your Monday. Heat indices will approach heat advisory criteria late Monday afternoon, pushing to near 110 degrees. With the upper ridge remaining in place, only isolated showers and thunderstorms can be expected the rest of the work week. Skies will be generally fair over the weekend. Plan on daybreak temperatures in the lower to middle 70s, with afternoons in the middle 90s.
