Overnight storms leave about 7,000 residents in Bee County without power

BEE COUNTY – Parts of Texas are recovering this morning after severe storms moved across the state including here in the Crossroads overnight. The National Weather Service reports the storm produced 81 mile per hour wind gusts in Beeville at the Beeville Airport. The NWS also reports numerous trees and power lines were reported down around Bee and Refugio Counties. Bee County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Willow said the strong storms left about 7,000 AEP customers without power. Willow said AEP has seven to eight crews working to restore power to the area. AEP expects to have power restored to all customers by 5 p.m. today.
