Our Lady of Victory hold mock “Trial of the Century”
VICTORIA, Texas — Our Lady of Victory held their annual mock trial demonstration, an opportunity for their students to learn the ins and outs of going to trial while having fun.
The trial, which placed Captain Smith of the Titanic on the stand, gave the students a chance to experience a courtroom trial while working together to either defend or persecute captain smith from conviction. We spoke to one student who says he’s blessed to have had the opportunity to participate.
“It’s been fun!” exclaimed Luis Ramos. “It’s been an experience for a lifetime. I know not many kids get this opportunity and I feel very honored and I’m glad I’ve been given this opportunity “
Teacher Theresa Childress says the mock trial was a huge success, with many students expressing their joy for the demonstration.
Oh, and in case you were curious, Captain Smith was found not guilty.
