Beating Covid-19

VICTORIA, Texas- Victoria will open vaccination clinic online registration Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Victoria City and County leaders and local hospital representatives will open online registration tomorrow to allocate 2,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses this week to Phase 1A and 1B candidates.

Registration for an appointment at the Wednesday, February 24th COVID-19 vaccination clinic can be completed online only starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Residents can register online at

The vaccination clinic is available only to those who have registered to set up an appointment ahead of time. Future clinics will be scheduled once additional doses become available from the state. Communications about vaccine availability will continue to be made through the Swift 911 Emergency Notification System, so it is important to sign up to receive alerts by texting the word “ADD” to 361-433-4554. Subscribing to these alerts is not a registration for an appointment.

Victoria County Public Health Director David Gonzales said that the switch to solely online registration is for this clinic only due to staffing issues caused by weather events last week. He said registrations would continue to be online and phone-based in the coming weeks.

City and county leaders said they are in final planning and development stages with Luminare, the company supplying the new Innoculate registration software that will improve the clinic’s process and possess the capacity needed to maintain a waiting list. Plans are to have the software operational next week.

The following organizations have worked to organize the vaccination clinic:

· Victoria County Public Health Department

· Victoria City/County Office of Emergency Management

· City of Victoria

· Victoria County

· Citizens Medical Center

· DeTar Healthcare System

· Post Acute Medical

Phase 1A includes health care workers, emergency service providers and others with an increased risk of coming into contact with the coronavirus, while Phase 1B includes those at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 and people aged 65 and older.
