One person at UHV tests positive for COVID-19
UHV has in-person and online classes this fall
VICTORIA, Texas – The University of Houston-Victoria notified the public about a person who tested positive for COVID-19. The person in quarantine since August 1, 2020. UHV says no significant contact with others took place on campus and the individual wore a mask while on campus. Workers sanitized the affected areas.
“We are continuing to take every precaution possible to ensure the health and safety of our students and employees,” UHV President Bob Glenn said. “As we prepare to welcome students back for the fall semester, we are working to ensure that students, faculty and staff have flexible, safe options available.”
On Aug. 11, 2020, the university moved to Phase 3 of UHV’s phased reopening plan meaning up to 30 percent of UHV staff could return to their offices on the Victoria campus and at the UHV Katy instructional site since the locations closed because of the pandemic.
This fall classes will take place both in-person and online through hybrid, real-time online or traditional online formats with a limited number of students and employees on campus. Fall classes start Aug. 24, 2020.
