One man dead and one hurt following crash on Highway 87 near Cuero
Deputies are still investigating a fatal car crash that occurred Sunday, June 13.
DEWITT COUNTY, Texas – One man is dead and one woman is hurt following a one-car crash off of U.S. Highway 87 just 10 miles north of Cuero.
Sgt. Ruben San Miguel with the Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred on Sunday, June 13.
The car was traveling north on U.S. Highway 87 when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail, said Sgt. San Miguel.
The car then bounced off and came to rest.
Two people were in the car at the time of the crash, confirmed Sgt. San Miguel.
The driver is identified as Timothy Herr of Cuero who was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Peggy Mayer.
The passenger is identified as Angelic Gonzales and was flown to University Hospital of San Antonio.
Sgt. San Miguel said Gonzales is in stable condition.
According to Sgt. San Miguel, Herr did not have a seat belt on at the time of the crash. He was not ejected but, suffered fatal injuries.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
