VPD arrest five after late night prostitution ring bust

VICTORIA, Texas - The Victoria Police Department have busted a prostitution ring after an early morning sting on Wednesday.

The department's Special Crimes Unit conducted an investigation throughout the city early Wednesday morning. 

During the investigation, officers were contacted by a woman at the Texas Inn who was soliciting sex. 

Two subjects, Kalvin Brian Dixon and Lacy Marie Garcia, were arrested after officers determined they were forcing three women into prostitution.

Both have been charged with promotion of prostitution, with Kalvin Dixon's charge being upgraded to aggravated promotion.

Dixon has also been charged with compelling prostitution by force.

Dixon is being held on a $100,000 bond while Garcia is being held on a $10,000.

Members of the Victoria Police Department Special Crimes Unit arrested five subjects in connection with prostitution related crimes.

Three separate investigations were in response to numerous citizens’ complaints regarding prostitution activity at two local establishments.

This investigation led to the following subjects being arrested:

* Wenzhao Xu, 48, of Victoria charged with Prostitution

* Suhua Greer, 55, of Victoria charged with Prostitution

Location: 100 Block of Jason Street

* Xiaoli Yang, 49, of Victoria charged with Prostitution

Location: 1300 Sam Houston Drive

* Kalvin Dixon, 31, of Victoria charged with Aggravated Promotion of Prostitution and Compelling Prostitution

* Lacy Garcia, 28, of Victoria charged with Promotion of Prostitution

Location: 3100 Block of US HWY 59
