CUERO, Texas - A modular home builder held a grand opening for its new factory in Cuero.
StudioBuilt by Amherst is projected to produce 60 homes every 30 days.
Sean Dobson, CEO and founder of Amherst, gave remarks at the ribbon-cutting event Wednesday before inviting attendees on a tour of the facility.
"It's amazingly efficient," Dobson said. "And it provides a way better quality of life and job market for the trade and craftsmen that we want building these homes."
Amherst purchased the property the factory stands on in 2021. The building on the property was a closed textile factory.
The goal is to create more than 250 manufacturing jobs with this new factory.
“We look forward to bringing these high-quality homes to neighborhoods in Texas and nearby states," said Spencer Lindahl, vice chairman of Amherst. "We welcome the opportunity to work with local leaders to bring this unique housing solution to their communities."
