VICTORIA, Texas – The rebuilding started Monday morning with city leaders putting shovels into the ground. Construction is scheduled to begin this week. the layout for the duck pond was designed by Luck design team and approved by the Victoria city council in 2020. The duck pond has been closed since 2018 due to sidewalk damage due to hurricane Harvey.
“Like a lot of Victorians, two generations of my family have enjoyed the duck pond. I’m particularly excited now that we have a third generation that’ll be able to enjoy the new duck pond,” said Lee Keeling, Victoria Parks and Recreation Chairman.
Last year, the city received over $620,000 from Texas Parks and Wildlife to repair the duck pond.
