Update: On Tuesday, Sheriff Vickery with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office confirmed two people are dead, one male and one female, following a helicopter crash near Seadrift and Port O'Connor.
The helicopter crash remains under investigation, and updates will be provided as we receive them.
SEADRIFT, Texas - A helicopter crash took place Monday night near Seadrift and Port O'Connor. On Tuesday, a spokesperson with the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the pilot was found dead.
The crash took place near the 700 block of Sanctuary Lake Drive. According to a spokesperson with the Coast Guard, the helicopter was traveling from Port O'Connor to the Calhoun County-Port Lavaca Airport.Â
DPS confirmed that the helicopter crashed beside a home at The Sanctuary at Costa Grande in Seadrift. The crash is under investigation, and there is no further information at this time.
