BAY CITY, Texas - Tuesday morning, Bay City Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle at 1212 Whitson Street at the former Linnie Roberts Elementary School. Officers discovered the body of 25-year-old Jared Aplin inside the vehicle. Bay City Police say Aplin was shot.
An autopsy ordered by the Matagorda County Justice of the Peace is currently underway. Other agencies are also assisting in the investigation.

1/26/2023 UPDATE: Bay City Police Department Detectives are seeking the whereabouts of a man named "Chris", described as a male, approximately 5'09" in height. Anyone with any information on "Chris" should contact the Bay City Police Department.
