New Victoria DA sworn in
With a New Year comes with it changes, including changes to our elected officials.
A swearing in ceremony was held today and Newscenter 25’s David Gibson spoke with the incoming DA.
“With the people we had sworn in today and im excited to be able to work with each of them in the coming year. i think we have a lot of excited things ahead,” says Ben Zeller, Victoria County Judge.
It was a packed house in the victoria county old courthouse for the swearing of elected officials for Victoria County. “Most everybody today was coming back for another term and we were excited to also welcome in a district attorney Constance Filley-Johnson who was sworn in and whose term begins today,” adds Zeller.
After Constance Filley-Johnson took her oath, the crowd rose to their feet for a standing ovation.
“Im really excited, we have worked really hard to get to this point and clearly by the turnout and the reception, the community is ready for this new direction,” explains Constance Filley-Johnson, New District Attorney.
Speaking of new direction Filley-Johnson says her team is ready to work.
“We have a great team that the citizens of this community can be proud of and we are going to get down to business right away and reassess where we are at and move forward,” adds Filley-Johnson.
She adds she is grateful for the opportunity to serve Victoria county.
“I’m just really grateful for the support and to have the opportunity. to serve my community,” exclaims Filley-Johnson.
