New airline service coming to Victoria Regional Airport
New airline will include larger capacity planes with jet service
VICTORIA, Texas- Lenny Llerena, Executive Director of Victoria Regional Airport, introduced Skywest Airlines and discussed what they will bring to the area during Tuesday morning’s partnership meeting.
Llerena says that Skywest will offer larger capacity planes, and more frequent flights than what was previously available, which Llerena says will attract more passengers to the airport.
“This airline will come with a 50 passenger jet, which will service daily twice to Geroge Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and on Saturday and Sunday you will have one round trip,” said Llerena.
Llerena says that once final approval is given by the Department of Transportation, then Skywest can begin operations in Victoria, which Llerena says should be on or soon after November first.
Boutique Air will continue to provide flights until Skywest can take over. So far, Skywest will only offer flights to Houston Bush airport.
