Near-perfect performances by Victoria I.S.D. students in state contest

VICTORIA, Texas – Ten band and orchestra ensembles participated in the University Interscholastic League Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation, earning top honors. Each ensemble participated in two evaluations, for a total of 20 evaluations, passing all of them.

Seven of the ensembles also returned with a U.I.L. Sweepstakes trophy, the highest honor, with First Division ratings from the judges in Concert and Sight-Reading performances.

“I am so proud of these directors and students,” shared David Edge, Victoria I.S.D. director of fine arts. “They showed that COVID didn’t win, all 10 ensembles did!”
