National Juice Reamer Collectors Convention coming to Cuero

The National Reamer Collectors Association (NRCA) will hold its 38th Annual Show and Sale of beautiful antique citrus juicers/reamers and kitchenware on March 31 & April 1 in Cuero. The event will be held at the Cuero Municipal Park Clubhouse, 201 Leonard Roy Harmon Drive from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. both days and is open to the public. Admission is free.

The NRCA is an international collectors group with approximately 150 members who share a common interest in collecting and trading information on reamers, commonly referred to as “juicers or squeezers.” Association president, Wayne Adickes, notes that one of the big reasons the convention is being held in Cuero this year is due to the extensive juice reamer collection on display at the Cuero Heritage Museum, which includes over 2,300 pieces.

Recently, Patricia Carberrry of Fairview, Texas made a donation of 200 juice reamers to the museum, sixty-eight of which are not part of the current collection. Duplicates will be sold during the two day show and sale.

Approximately fifty members from over twenty states plan to attend the convention, show and sale. This is the first convention of its kind to be held in Cuero. For more information regarding the event, please contact Wayne Adickes at 361-649-2828.
