Mostly Cloudy and Humid; Scattered Afternoon Showers
Partly Cloudy with Isolated Showers Thursday
VICTORIA, Texas — Our Tuesday reprieve from extreme heat and humidity was fleeting, as triple digit heat indices return to the Crossroads this afternoon. Weak upper level instability and daytime heating of the Gulf air mass allowed for scattered showers as well, but those will quickly die around sunset. Expect only isolated showers Thursday and Friday, then a tropical wave begins to influence our weather pattern. Showers and thunderstorms will begin to increase by late Saturday, and become scattered Sunday and Monday. Rain and thunderstorms will be widespread and significant Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Highs will be in the middle to lower 90s, except for upper 80s on a very wet Tuesday. Lows remain in the lower to middle 70s.
