More than 1,000 people without power in Wharton
CenterPoint Energy customers lost power on Sunday
WHARTON, Texas — Wharton Police Department reported a power outage affecting CenterPoint Energy customers Sunday morning.
WPD stated that 2,220 people were without power around midnight.
A combinatin of a blown transformer at FM 102 and Sunset Street and a fallen tree at N. Fulton Street and West Third Street caused the outage.
Newscenter 25 contacted CenterPoint Energy to find out more and a representative stated their records show that 1,624 customers were without power.
CenterPoint Energy stated that “crews arrived to the site and made necessary repairs to resore power to all affected customers around six a.m. on Sunday.”
