More on Duane Crocker and Lee Andrew Cantu, running for District 3 council member seat

The four candidates running for District three, council member seat are Joe Geistman, Aaron Franco, Duane Crocker, and Lee Andrew Cantu.

VICTORIA, Texas – This year’s special election includes a race for the District 3 council member position.

On Sunday, May 16, a report included more about Joe Geistman and Aaron Franco’s candidacy.

Yet, there are four overall candidates. The other two are Duane Crocker and Lee Andrew Cantu.

Crocker is a Victoria native and an attorney.

Crocker raised his family in this city and was a political science major in college.

Some of Crocker’s inspiration in becoming a council member was not only for political interest, but also because he says much of the everyday legal practices fulfilled could assist in some of the council member work.

“I just feel like we’re at an important part and juncture of our city where there’s things that need to be addressed that I can help with. I think the citizens of District three in Victoria deserve some strong common sense, fiscally conservative representation,” Crocker said.

Lee Andrew Cantu has lived in Victoria for 19 years and in District three for 16 years.

Cantu has 6 children and says he’s followed in his father’s foot steps to stay involved in your community.

In addition, Cantu’s father taught him to most importantly give back when you are blessed.

“And that’s what I want to do. That’s what’s inspired me, I didn’t want to run when Bauknight was there because Bauknight was doing a great job. The council has been doing an awesome job and there are some opportunities. That’s why I would like to get on there, to see where we could find more opportunities to continue growing the city,” Cantu said.

The special election for the District three, council member race is scheduled for Saturday, July 3.
