Moody Street to reduce lanes beginning Monday for utility installation
VICTORIA, Texas — Beginning on Monday, March 4, 2019, the City will reduce the northbound traffic on Moody Street to one lane from Convent Street to Santa Rosa Street for utility installation. Construction is expected to be completed in six weeks, weather permitting.
All businesses in the construction zone will remain accessible, and the public is encouraged to support businesses in the work zone. Through-traffic can avoid delays in the work zone by seeking alternate routes.
This construction is part of the $2,925,568.90 Downtown Water and Sewer Line Replacements.
“This covers the replacement, so, the quality of the life is… will be interrupting people’s lives less now that we have the new infrastructure under way,” Communication Director for the City of Victoria O.C. Garza says. “There’ll be a lot less leaks. There’ll be a higher quality drinking water with newer pipes providing that water.”
The contractor is J&R Contracting Services, Inc. of Victoria, Texas.
