Monster Truck Wars Defending Champ

BEEVILLE,Texas–When the Monster Truck Wars came to Victoria back in January defending champion Alex Rodriguez was in the lead. Rodriguez crashed his truck on Saturday at Del Rio. Rodriguez lost part of his trucks body, but that didn’t stop him from competing in the show on Sunday.

“There’s new moves that were doing with these monster truck wars monster trucks and one of them is called a “stoppie” and basically what it is is you want to get it up on the first two tires and balance it there for as long as you can. I was doing it off a different jump than I normally do it off so I wasn’t too comfortable doing it but I figured what’s the worst that could happen gonna roll over and ultimately that’s what happened,” said Rodriguez.

As  2018 rookie of the year, 2019 point title leader, he is looking for another championship title in the 2020 season.  The Monster Truck Wars continued on Sunday in Beeville where Rodriguez fought to cut his nine point deficit with The Outlaw before the end of the season in hopes to reclaim his title.

“Really gonna have to step it up if I want to defend my title but I’m pretty confident I could take him,” continued Rodriguez.

After Sunday’s performance he is down four points. With just four shows remaining, Alex will have to come up with some new tricks next weekend in Hugo, Oklahoma. The final show which is the grandest of them all, takes place in Fredericksburg at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds on March 28th. I also got to sit on a bike but was scared to take it for a spin.
