Mid-Coast Family Services to provide hotel stays for those in need of warm shelter

Freezing temperatures loom through Monday

VICTORIA, Texas- Mid-Coast Family Services announced Thursday that they will provide emergency hotel stays in lieu of their traditional Warming Center beginning Thursday night through Monday night due to freezing temperatures.

Coronavirus and social distancing concerns inhibit our ability to host their regular Warming Center. If anyone in the community y needs shelter from the cold, contact Mid-Coast Family Services at 361-575-7842. A photo ID is required to stay at a hotel.

Mid-Coast Family Services is requesting monetary donations to help purchase hotel stays.  Donations may be made by telephone or at Mid-Coast Family Services located at 111 S. Liberty Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Donations to Victoria Area Homeless Coalition may be made at the same location.

Mid-Coast Family Services said they will be doing street outreach to identify homeless who need hotel shelter or tents and thermal sleeping bags but will be unable to provide transportation to hotels.
