Mid-Coast Family Services opens warming center

Mid-Coast Family Services is opening a warming center due to frigid temperatures next week.

As temperatures continue to drop, they will open the shelter as many times as needed this season, when the real-feel temperature drops below 32°F

The shelter will be at the Pine Street Community Center, on Monday and Tuesday nights, tentatively. The center will open at 5pm. It is not only for the homeless, but also people who cannot stay warm in their homes for whatever reason. Children and pets are welcome.

They are also seeking donations of warm socks, blankets, thermal underwear, gloves, snacks, and other items to help people stay warm.
