Mayor-elect Jeff Bauknight is ready to serve Victoria
With more than 60% of the vote, Bauknight wins the Victoria Mayoral Election
VICTORIA, Texas – Former city council member, Jeff Bauknight, won the Victoria Mayoral Election with more than 60% of the vote. Tonight, he hosted a watch party at Aerocrafters to watch the voting numbers come in.
Bauknight says he’s ready to serve as Mayor of Victoria.
“Very humbled by the number of votes that I received, a lot of trust that people have put in me, looking forward to serving the community as an entire community and just really excited,” says Bauknight,
Surrounded by his friends, family and supporters, Bauknight took the opportunity to greet and speak with everyone who came out to his event.
The crowd cheered as the voting numbers were released.
“I want everyone in the community to know that they can reach out to me. I’m here to serve everybody, not just district three anymore, it’s citywide, the same effort I gave district three, you can expect for the entire city,” says Bauknight.
Bauknight also says he wants to lead the mayor’s office the same way late mayor Rawley McCoy led the office in the right direction.
Bauknight won’t get sworn in as mayor until the second regular meeting in July as required by City Charter.
