Matagorda County Medical Officers Confirmed Three More Positive COVID-19 Cases

The number of COVID-19 cases rises to 39

MATAGORDA, Texas – Matagorda County Emergency Operations Center was informed on Saturday, April 4, 2020 that Matagorda County Medical Officers have confirmed three additional positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in County from Matagorda.
We continue to work with each test site to keep the public informed of the number of positive cases.
The current number of positive cases in Matagorda County is 39.
In an effort to fully inform the citizens of Matagorda County about the location of COVID-19 positive cases, we have completed a list of communities. This list has been reported to Matagorda County Emergency Operations Center.
We hope this will help convince all residents of Matagorda County to follow the mandatory Shelter Order on the spot.
Communities are: Bay City, Wadsworth, Palacios, Matagorda, Van Vleck and Blessing.
Again, these numbers are provided to the Matagorda County Emergency Operations Center from different medical stations.
We don’t have the ability to provide you with updated numbers of negative and pending cases. Thank you for understanding and supporting these heroes who work for us in a difficult time

Matagorda County Emergency Management Team continues to work closely with the Texas State Emergency Operations Center, the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and Matagorda County Hospital District, Palacios Medical Center, MEHOP and our local doctors.
Continue to practice good hygiene by washing your hands regularly, avoid touching your face, sneezing and coughing with a disposable handkerchief and regularly disinfect frequent items and surfaces.
