Martinez and Williams have been announced new principals for two Victoria I.S.D. campuses
Both ladies have many years of experience in education prior to their new roles
VICTORIA, Texas – Kimberly Martinez and Sharla Williams have been announced by Victoria I.S.D. as Principal of Rowland Elementary School (Martinez) and Principal/Director of Head Start (Williams).
“I am excited and honored to be able to serve as the new Principal at Rowland Elementary,” said Martinez. “It has been a privilege working with the families and staff at Rowland for the last three years as the Assistant Principal, and I am looking forward to continuing the work of creating opportunities to meet our goals for our student’s academic success and social-emotional well-being.”
Prior to this announcement, Martinez has served as the Assistant Principal for Rowland Elementary for three years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria. Martinez, a member of The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA), has seven years of education experience.
“Words cannot express how honored and thankful I am for this amazing opportunity to inspire our next generation and build lasting relationships as the Principal/Director of Head Start,” said Williams. “My ultimate desire is to encourage and empower our young minds to believe in themselves and know that together we can move mountains!”
Williams has served as Assistant Principal for Smith Elementary for eight years. Previously, she worked at Victoria West High School and Patti Welder Middle School as an assistant principal. She received a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria. Williams, an active member of TEPSA and Ladies of Distinction – Victoria Chapter, has twenty-four years of experience in education.
Martinez and Williams will start their new positions on July 13, 2021.
