Manning Gymnastics reopens for first time in over two months
VICTORIA, Texas — Local gymnastics center Manning Gymnastics opened its doors on Monday for the first time since being forced to close in mid-March.
The facility, which trains Junior Olympic and Trampoline and Tumbling teams, reopened under current CDC guidelines Monday morning. Despite being able to train its athletes, Manning’s competition teams won’t see action until at least 2021, as all state and national competitions have been canceled through the end of the year.
“Obviously it was unprecedented for everyone,” said Chad Ganaway, head coach of Manning’s Trampoline and Tumbling team. “So, we are upset that our competitions are cancelled but we’re back on training today and just getting ready for 2021.”
COVID-19 had previously forced Manning to close the week of spring break in March.
