Man identified in Upper Mission Valley crash

We now know the name of the Victoria man that was killed last night after an two-car accident on Upper Mission Valley Road.

57-year-old Donald Riggs died on scene last night after he wasn’t wearing his seat belt, and was ejected from the car.

Riggs was the passenger of the ford truck that failed to yield the right of way causing a white van to crash into the truck’s side.

The driver of the truck was treated and released at the scene last night.

The investigation is ongoing and it’s not yet known if speed, distracted driving, or another factor contributed to the driver of the ford disregarding the stop sign.

DPS would like to remind all drivers to obey traffic control devices, to drive at a safe speed, minimize distractions and always wear your safety belt
