Lyle Lovett to Perform at Benefit Concert in Victoria

Victoria, Texas — Four-time Grammy Award winner, singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett and His Large Band will perform at a concert benefiting the Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity.

“What an incredibly unique opportunity this is to have Lyle Lovett and His Large Band come to Victoria,” said Clay Crockett, chair of the event . “It is a can’t-miss event for any music lover. It will be the concert of the year in this area.”

Lovett will perform at 7:30 p.m. August 22 at the Victoria Fine Arts Center, 1002 Sam Houston. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 9 and range in price from $ 50- $120. Tickets can be purchased online at or in person at the Victoria Symphony office, 405 E Loma Vista Ave.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help build simple, affordable homes for local families in need. Since 2012, the annual Speaking of Sweat Equity event has raised enough funds to help build six homes.

The event name pays homage to the fact that every Habitat partner family invests 300 hours of “sweat equity” in lieu of the cash down payment a typical homeowner pays when purchasing a home. Featured speakers and artists address how they invest their own forms of sweat equity to overcome personal and professional challenges.

“It is a special treat for Victoria and Habitat,” said Cynthia Staley, Executive Director Golden Crescent Habitat. “We are honored to host an event that bonds our mission to the community and provides entertainment as well.”
