Local veterans organization raising funds to keep doors open

VICTORIA, Texas – The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4146 is trying to raise money to keep the building open and continue helping the veterans.

The fundraiser held Saturday by the VFW was for the local veterans.

With the pandemic, the VFW is not getting much funds to help the veterans.

This is the first year they are having this event, just like other veterans groups and other non-profits, they have no funds coming in.

The hall is an important place where veterans use for their needs.

To keep it afloat they need to have money coming in.

“To give back for a good cause makes you feel good inside for all of us,” said Andy Rosalez, VFW Post 4146 Commander. “We sit there once a month. We sit down together and we say hey what do we have to do what do we need to do to keep this building up and going. what do we need to do to help other Veterans groups.”

The Disabled American Veterans, Purple Heart Homes are just some of the groups that utilize the building. They also hold run events there as well. The VFW needs help getting funds in order to help veterans and veteran organizations.
