Local Swimmers Medal At Nationals Updated 8-6
Two Local Boys Earn National Silver Medals
Lynchburg, Virginia —
Three members of the Victoria Wahoo swim team won medals at the State Games Of America Nationals Sunday in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Seven-year-old Luke Palmer of Victoria, finishing in second in the 7-8 year old 100 meter medley relay. 11-year-old Bruce Bayarena of Victoria, taking second in the 11-12 year old 200 meter freestyle relay. Bailee Wagner of Hallettsville, taking fourth in the 13-14 year old girls 100 meter backstroke.
Claire Connally finished the meet with two golds, two silvers and a bronze. Claire finished first in the 7-8 year old 25 yard butterfly, second in both the 25 yard and 50 yard freestyle and participated with girls from the El Campo/Rosenburg area to finish first and third in the freestyle and medley relays, respectively. She is 8 and a member of the Swim Smart Tsunami team here in Victoria.
