Local reaction to Biden’s president elect title
VICTORIA, Texas – On Saturday, Democratic Candidate Joe Biden gained the upper hand for electoral college votes.
Many people began to celebrate and take to the streets their excitement towards this reality.
While current president Donal Trump only has 214 votes and Joe Biden has 290, Pat Tally, the democratic chair shares her reaction to this news.
“We don’t want to be divisive, but we’re not going to back down about the things that are important to us. Which is honesty, empathy, and a country that we can be proud of. That the world looks to for leadership. We’re going to try to have people who think about America, who think about being kind, and growing, and working together. And not like hating each other all the time,” she said.
So far, Biden and Harris were able to speak in public about their win.
Biden claims he will bring the U.S. together and will not lead with division.
