Local law enforcement seizes synthetic drugs and firearms in raid

VICTORIA, TX – Law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies conducted three simultaneous search warrants in the city of Victoria on the morning of August 23rd. The search warrants were the result of an extensive undercover operation conducted by the Special Operations Unit of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office.

Items of interest seized during the search warrants were:

59.8 grams of synthetic marijuana 5.1 pounds of marijuana Four firearms, one of which was reported stolen out of Houston An undisclosed amount of US Currency

The following agencies provided assistance during the execution phase of the operation: Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Bay City Police Department, Port Lavaca Police Department, Victoria Police Department, Cuero Police Department, Yoakum Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Attorney General’s Office.

Regarding the operation, Sheriff T. Michael O’Connor said “This is just another example of the types of complex operations that we find ourselves conducting. Criminal organizations have grown increasingly complex, and the men and women of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office have done an outstanding job of adapting in their efforts to put such operations out of business. Drugs are the root of evil in society, and we intend to do everything within our powers to take down the individuals and organizations that spread this poison throughout our region.”
