Local Gymnast Fights Off Back Problems 5-2
Henley Goes For Regional Title In Lubbock
Victoria, Texas —
Back problems, not stopping a local gymnast from competing at regionals this weekend.
Back in February, Paxton Henley of Manning Gymnastics took second at the VIP Classic in Evansville, Indiana. Paxton did that even though she had three bulging discs in her back. Now, she gets ready for regionals starting Friday. Her back is better and she is getting ready to perform her most difficult routine ever. I talked with her about all that.
“The three bulging discs cause many back spasms. I had one right before I competed at state. But I do wear a back brace now which has actually helped me throughout this week. It’s getting pretty good.”
Said Manning Elite head coach Chad Ganaway, “She’s been progressing really good. It’s a daily thing with her with how bad her back is hurting, how much pain she’s in. But she definitely puts in the work every day and she’s looking like she’s ready to go.”
Manning Elite competes at the Region 3 Trampoline And Tumbling championships starting Friday in Lubbock.
