Local golfers compete in South Texas PGA Junior Tournament
Golfers with the South Texas PGA Junior Tour brought the competition to Victoria on Monday and Tuesday. Many local golfers took advantage of the chance to compete at the Victoria Country Club, with the tournament wrapping up on Tuesday.
The best overall score of the tournament went to Trace Martin, from San Marcos, who shot 71-74. Faith Academy’s Alex Hernandez had the best score out of the Victoria golfers. He shot a 78 both days to earn a bronze medal in the Boys 15-18 group. In the Boys 13-14 division, Victoria’s Jude Stehling took home second with a two-day total 209. For the girls, Rockport’s Jondi Murphy had the best round of the day, shooting even to give her a total 148, and a gold medal.
