Local Golf Pro Beats Cancer A Third Time 4-19
David Lundstrom Almost Shoots His Age, 72
Victoria, Texas —
This is a really Good Friday for the teaching and touring golf pro at The Club At Colony Creek.
David Lundstrom has beaten cancer for a third time. He beat prostate cancer. It came back on him after five years of being cancer free. Last month, the 72-year-old Lundstrom shot rounds of 73 and 74 to take fourth in the senior division at the Southern Texas PGA TPX Communications Memorial Championship in Pearland. David told me how it felt to do that well after beating cancer again.
“It felt really well because in January and February I had been working out to get my strength back from my radiation treatments I had in October and November. I’m on the right track. I’m getting a little distance back and just to be able to do it for X amount of time is my goal. I’m really excited about it.”
David Lundstrom, along with head pro David Ramirez, are teaching youth golf clinics at The Club At Colony Creek. The next one is Tuesday.
