Local Girl Crowned Grand Champion In Victoria Market Hog Show

One local girl is taking home the grand prize from the Victoria Market Hog Show.
Eleven year old Karys Howard from Inez, was crowned grand champion for the second year in a row. This was all thanks to her hog named Koozie.

Koozie won first place out of more than 230 other hogs.

Howard says this was a prize she didn’t expect but took a lot of hard work and selflessness to get.

“We have to work together because if I didn’t work with her she wouldn’t be walking as good. We’re a team and we work together,” she says.

This year, Howard took home a grand champion banner, a belt buckle, and will sell in the number two sale slot Monday evening at the community center.
Last year, her grand champion hog sold for 10,000 dollars.
