Local Club Golfers Return To The Links
City, County Restrictions Lifted
Today was the first day Victoria golf club members could get back on the course.
Wednesday, Victoria Country Club and The Club At Colony Creek got the go-ahead from city and county officials to reopen their golf courses for their members. Victoria Country Club PGA Director Of Golf Joe Mitchell told me that between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. today there were between 45-50 rounds of golf played there. The clubs’ golf shops, driving ranges and putting greens also have reopened.
Carts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis due to the single cart rider rule. All CDC social distancing rules are still in effect on the courses.
Golf carts are being sanitized after each use and before rental. Golfers are told not to touch or remove the flagstick during play.
