Local Child Advocacy Group Receives Grant

A local child advocacy group received a grant to educate the community about child abuse. Hope Child Advocacy Center in Victoria received $10,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. The mission of Hope Child Advocacy Center is to reduce the trauma of child abuse by assisting in the investigation, assessment, prosecution and ongoing treatment of child victims. “We are looking forward this year to promoting a prevention and education program so this $10,000 will assist us an my staff getting training to obtain circulation to begin these programs,” said Executive Director Rick Tinney.

Children’s Advocacy Centers provide a safe, child-friendly environment where law enforcement, CPS, and health care professionals can develop strategies sensitive to the needs of each case and child.
