Little Mermaid Jr. to make a splash after a year of preparations, delays

CUERO, Texas – A production that has been more than a year in the making is making a splash at the Performing Arts Center of Cuero Saturday, with some campus-only performances happening as early as Friday morning. Little Mermaid Jr. is being produced by the Boys & Girls Club of DeWitt County and production had to take a pause due to the pandemic, so they’ve been preparing for a while now. Just a few of the original cast had to drop out of the production but the rest of the crew stayed on.

Lauren Leslie-Mees, a sixth-grade student said she dyed her hair for the first time for the role.

Megan Bell, with the Boys and Girls Club of DeWitt County, said they are so grateful for the ability to put on a show at the five-year-old fine arts center.

The two performances open to the public are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets are $10.
