VICTORIA, Texas – Robert Diaz and his family took their holiday display to the next level this year.
Before 6 p.m., their lawn seems like the classic, festive lawn, but the home turns into an entire light show when the sun sets.
Diaz said the display started ten years ago after his twins were born. His fiancé Zulema Medina said the twins enjoy the festivities of the holidays. However, their main purpose for the big display is to show their appreciation for the community.
“It’s something to give back to the community that gives so much to us during the year as a business,” Diaz said.
He runs a tattoo shop. Although D’s Tattoos stays open seven days a week, Diaz took some time off to put all of the decorations together, which lasted five days. The decorations’ light show aligns with music from a local radio station.
Diaz found inspiration for the experience online. He turned a YouTube video into an actual show.
“I’ve always seen him on YouTube, where the dancy lights for your Christmas lights, so it was just something I wanted to do one year,” Diaz said. “And, it’s just gotten bigger every year. We try to add a little bit every year.”
