Law Enforcement ask residents to show house number properly

The Goliad County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents if they have the proper signage to help first responders find their homes in an emergency.

They say every second counts in an emergency and there are certain steps you should follow.

Like having your house number posted and visible from both directions on the road.

You should make sure to keep all trees and grass trimmed around the sign, and make sure the sign is reflective.

“If you’re having a medical emergency you don’t want the ambulance going up and down the road trying to spot your address so what we recommend people do is have some sort of reflective sign it could be something like a street sign that you see on any street corner,” said Goliad County Sheriff’s Captain John Pape.

These safety tips help first responders especially at night.
