LAVACA COUNTY: Road closures due to high waters, flooding
Take precaution and avoid high-water-level areas.
LAVACA COUNTY, Texas – Due to severe weather and flooding, there are several road closures in the Lavaca County area.
Here is a partial list of reported roads affected by flooding, according to Lavaca County OEM:
- CR 256 (East of Moulton)
- FM 532 at Lavaca River
- CR 352 (Shiner)
- CR 350A
Roads are either closed or have high water levels as reported by state, county and local officials.
It is possible that certain county roads across Lavaca County are experiencing road washouts, damage and or water over the roads but have not been reported yet. Lavaca County OEM reminds you that road conditions can change rapidly.
If you approach water over the roadway, no matter the depth, please turn around and don’t drown. Crews may not be able to arrive at all high water crossings immediately to deploy High Water Signs, so please take precaution.
Lavaca County OEM is asking you to not drive or walk into flooded waters. Please report water over roads in the Lavaca County area to Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 361-798-2121.
