Lavaca County ends COVID-19 disaster declaration

LAVACA COUNTY, Texas- Friday afternoon Lavaca County Judge Keith Mudd signed an order to terminate the COVID-19 County Disaster Declaration. The order was issued on March 13, 2020.
Lavaca County, Texas Office of Emergency Management has worked tirelessly to keep Lavaca County Citizens safe from the spread of COVID-19. The county disaster declaration cleared the way for area leaders to take advantage of state and federal resources to protect the public from COVID-19.
Lavaca County officials have remained dedicated to their responsibility to inform the public and combat the spread of COVID-19. Thanks to the continued efforts of our community and the hard work of our emergency and public health officials, the need for a continued disaster declaration does not exist at this time.
