Lauren Johnson Tournament concludes at VCC

East and West girls golf both wrapped up play at the Lauren Johnson Saturday morning

VICTORIA, Texas — East girls golf finished third as a team and West girls golf finished sixth as the 2020 Lauren Johnson Tournament concluded at Victoria Country Club Saturday.

The Titans bested their Friday team score by six strokes — carding a 355 — to come in with a two-day final of 716 and earn third place at their home tournament, behind only the two 6A schools in competition, Lake Travis and Austin Westlake. Lake Travis won the tournament with a two-day team score of 662 while Austin Westlake carded a 677.

Emma Koch was the low scorer for East, shooting an 82 on Saturday to finish with a 169 over the two days, good for sixth place overall.

As a team, the Warriors finished in sixth place with a two-day score of 770. Leila Sutherland was the low scorer for the West girls with an 82 Saturday, bettering her Friday score by 15 strokes. Emily Bauknight shot an 85 for a two-day total of 172.
