Keep Victoria Beautiful hosts fall 2022 cleanup event

"People have a good time, it's a real quick and easy way to feel like you contributed to your community. It's satisfying, kind of like mowing a lawn, I mean you pick up trash and it looks great. Young people, we had lots of high schoolers and college kids come out, and they all get to feel a part of the community. You get to come out, do it, and you're done by 9'oclock," says Youker.

VICTORIA, Texas – Keep Victoria Beautiful had its fall cleanup event Saturday morning with community members coming together to pick up trash around the city.

Executive Director of Keep Victoria Beautiful Christy Youker says this was the most volunteers they’ve had with over 400 people showing up to help clean up, and the most trash they’ve picked up, with groups cleaning up over 20 locations around Victoria. The Salvation Army of Victoria donated and served food to volunteers and the city of Victoria’s Waste Management helped out going around to pick up the full bags of trash community members collected.

The event happens twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring so be on the lookout for the next one next spring if you want to come out and help Keep Victoria Beautiful.
